I must admit, with the naked eye I thought I was photographing a termite. I had to look at the photo for a few seconds to realize that this was in fact a juvenile European Earwig. Earwigs are another species that rarely stop moving around when found in the field, so I quickly capitalized on these shots. I found the adult clinging to the underside of a board that I laid in my backyard. She ran off immediately after the shoot.
