This is precisely why I love ultra macro photography; there’s no need for a 10 mile hike, you can do it any time and any place. In the warm months just lay prone on the ground and stare into the grass; you’re sure to find a photo shoot. But in Winter I keep a sharp eye on the walls, corners and potted plants inside my house.

Salticidae spiders scamper on my walls and ceilings. They’re fairly easy to catch by putting a sheet of paper flat in front of them and gently nudging their butt. I can then place the spider where I need to take the shot. They usually hold still long enough to get a few shots.
